JOB DUTIES - May design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
- Provide network expertise (CANES, ADNS, and ISNS) in the implementation, operation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network systems prior to and during live and simulated test events
- Perform JREAP and network installation
- Perform documentation on JREAP and network efforts
- Provide SME support for JREAP and network efforts
- May conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
- Duties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Conduct testing of network systems.
- Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluate and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience and Clearance
- Bachelors in related field (i.e. networking, computer science, cyber security) preferred
- A minimum of 3+ years of experience configuring and operating Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS), Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) Inc II, ADNS Inc III with follow on Service Packs/Feature Sets, and Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES).
- Network experience and running operations in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment
- Experience providing systems administration support to comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements.
- Experience with selecting, implementing, and configuring network devices including Juniper and Palo Alto Experience with network configuration for integration with cloud environments
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Must currently possess a Security + certification
- Hold a DoD Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2 certification.
- Must currently hold an active Secret Clearance
