Summary of Position

Performing the essential functions of cleaning and sanitizing pots, pans, and dishware in the establishment, while maintaining standards of cleanliness and safety.

This is an essential staff position in Hospitality Services and is necessary for food production/service operations through weather or other emergency conditions.

  1. Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize.
  2. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary.
  3. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
  4. Must be able to physically meet the demands of the position including lifting, bending, twisting, pulling, and pushing loads up to 50lbs.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  1. ServSafe Certified
  2. Knowledge of food service techniques, sanitation, and safety.
  3. Must have a guest service passion and the ability to work with diverse teams.

Duty/Responsibility

Washing and sanitizing soiled dishware, pots, and pans. Return clean items to their proper storage location. Monitor 3 bay sink and dish machine water temperature and chemical levels, adjusting as necessary.

Duty/Responsibility

Maintaining UNH and DHHS standards of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout the shift, including garbage waste, food waste, floors, walls, surfaces, glass, and equipment. Reporting equipment malfunctions and needed repairs to supervisors. Proper cleanliness and sanitation of dish machine between and after service periods, including pulper assignments to support our sustainability mission.

Duty/Responsibility

Maintain a level of flexibility to address departmental needs, including changes in work area, operation, or assigned duties within Hospitality Services. Willingness to alter schedule temporarily if needed to support a high level of guest service. Working with co-workers and student employees in a respectful and well-mannered way as required by the UNH Hospitality Handbook. Perform other duties as assigned.
