Job Description

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota is hiring a full-time Business and Finance Faculty Member for its Business and Communication Department who is committed to contributing to the school's Lasallian Catholic mission of awakening, nurturing, and empowering learners to live lives of ethical service and leadership. This role involves in-person teaching August-early May in Winona, MN.

The Business and Finance Faculty Member will have a standard teaching load of 22-24 credit hours per year, primarily in finance and related business disciplines. Classes may include, but are not limited to, the following: Corporate Finance, Investments, Financial Markets and Institutions, Advanced Financial Management, Portfolio Management, Professional Financial Planning, Sport Finance, and others. This role is a three-year fixed-term position starting in August 2024, with annual renewal.

Job Duties:

  • Teach students in assigned classes in accordance with course descriptions and/or learning outcomes, the course syllabus, and institutional policies and procedures
  • Communicate with and provide feedback to students in a timely fashion
  • Use knowledge of diverse communities and skill sets to diversify teaching methods and delivery of content in instruction
  • Participate in assessment activities at course, department, college, and district levels to assist students in achieving designated course objectives or learning outcomes
  • Use appropriate technologies to enhance classroom or online instruction and to achieve established course objectives or learning outcomes
  • Regularly evaluate teaching methods and use data to continually improve instructional strategies

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s or doctorate degree in finance, required
  • 5+ years of teaching finance, economics, or related business disciplines
  • Strong record of accomplishment in college-level teaching in full-time or adjunct role
  • CFA or CPA desired
