Invention Education Learning and Curriculum Specialist

Job Description

INVENTION EDUCATION LEARNING AND CURRICULUM SPECIALIST, Lemelson-MIT Program (LMIT),          to assist with evaluation studies and research related to LMIT’s educational initiatives. Studies will inform the initial development and ongoing improvement of programs and curricula to support students on the pathway to invention. Will also oversee the preparation and work of MIT student interns (or fellows) assisting with evaluation studies.  Responsibilities will include advising faculty, administration, and students on innovations in pedagogy, curricula, and/or ways of assessing new learning and teaching models; designing and implementing assessment studies to evaluate student learning, pedagogies, educational technology, or other aspects of  MIT’s curriculum/program offerings; administering the Student Research Fellows Program; collaborating on developing and executing communications strategies and materials related to program evaluations and research results; making presentations; contributing to the planning and execution of LMIT’s general operations; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  Ph.D. in education or STEM-related field; at least three years of academic assessment experience, including specialized knowledge of quantitative and qualitative educational research methodologies; and excellent written and verbal communication skills.  PREFERRED:  experience with quantitative educational assessments and ethnography in education, and familiarity with invention education or experience as an educator within K12 or community colleges.  Job #23727-8
