Job Description

The Director of Alliance Management at Acadia plays a pivotal role in driving innovation through strategic collaborations. Responsible for cultivating partnerships and coordinating their integration, this role ensures Acadia's access to a diverse pipeline of pharmaceutical targets, assets, and technologies. The Director provides leadership in alliance activities, including negotiation, governance, and operational oversight, while encouraging effective communication and collaboration across various partners. This role reports to the SVP, Chief Business Officer, and collaborates extensively both internally and externally to drive alliance success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a significant portfolio of alliances to achieve agreed milestones and outcomes.
  • Identify, propose, and advocate for new alliances aligned with Acadia's strategic objectives.
  • Ensure alignment between collaborations and portfolio management processes in partnership with cross-functional colleagues.
  • Work with Finance and Business support functions to run budget and prioritization for alliances.
  • Facilitate successful planning and execution of alliance reviews.
  • Lead contracts related to alliances and ensure compliance across cross-functional teams.
  • Lead contract amendment negotiations and cultivate ongoing partnerships with existing collaborators.
  • Maintain proactive communication with key contacts at universities and biotech companies.
  • Represent Acadia in external organizations and steering committees related to collaborations.

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Ph.D. or MD in medicine, science, pharmacy, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in alliance/partnership management within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Proficient in conducting productive meetings and encouraging collaboration.
  • Knowledge of multiple functions within the pharma or biotech industry.
  • Strong intercultural awareness and diplomacy skills.
  • Excellent networking and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrates high personal integrity and upholds Acadia's values as an ambassador.
  • Experience in project leadership.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$223,000-$278,200 USD
