Senior Analyst, Strategic Initiatives and Market Insights

Job Description

SENIOR ANALYST, STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND MARKET INSIGHTS, Resource Development, to engage in market research, consumer and donor behavior analysis, financial and trend analysis, surveying, benchmarking, and goal-setting scenario planning related to campaigns, fundraising programs, peer benchmarking, campaign feasibility analysis, economic conditions, and the nonprofit sector and philanthropy as a whole.  Will serve as a subject-matter expert and resource for creating bespoke special reports, white papers, and presentations.  

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; five years’ experience within a complex, nonprofit, fundraising strategy setting, preferably in a higher education organization; excellent organizational, planning, problem-solving, analytical, time management, project management, presentation, and written and oral communication skills; experience and fluency with market research techniques, querying and analyzing complex data sets, and engaging in financial, trend, and descriptive statistical analysis techniques; mastery of technical writing and the visual and written presentation of information; attention to accuracy, quality, and time sensitivity; comfort with highly academic, scientific, and/or technical materials; tact and discretion with confidential information; Microsoft Office fluency; proficiency with analytical software (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or their equivalents); understanding of relational databases, philanthropy and fundraising news, research databases, and online resources to conduct related queries and data mining; and ability to become proficient in new technologies/systems.  Must be able to transform data into clear, actionable, customer-centric insights supporting strategic initiative planning; design report layouts and collaborate on extracting information and creating custom reports from databases and dashboarding systems; manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; work independently; and collaborate with others as part of a team.  PREFERRED:  knowledge of prospect development, pipeline management, library science, and/or information management.  Job #23704-9

Must be willing and able to occasionally travel and work evenings and weekends.

This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
