The quality intern will work with at the Composite Sealing Systems Divisional Headquarters in San Diego CA. The intern will work in the quality department and will provide support to various quality functions. This is an entry-level position, and the quality intern will receive guidance and mentorship from the quality team. The intern will also have the opportunity to learn about the manufacturing industry and gain valuable experience working in a fast-paced regulated environment.

The internship is designed to be a full-time on-site position for the 2024 summer semester. The start and end date for the internship is flexible.

  • Provide functional support to the quality engineer and/or quality Manager.
  • Participate in quality related improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Generate and report quality metrics (rejections data, COPQ, scrap, etc.).
  • Perform training to quality and manufacturing associates as necessary.
  • Map and document processes.
  • Define and document standard work, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Follows established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.

Education:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Incoming Junior or Senior Standing
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA

Experience:

  • Previous manufacturing internship preferred.

Skills:

  • Computer Proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while sitting/standing.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers for extended periods of time.
