About the Role:

Support overall Total Pay programs including to develop, update, implement and administer company compensation and related programs. Supports the annual Total Pay (base, bonus and equity) and midyear salary review processes, continued education on job architecture and job leveling, HR team with compensation related issues/questions, training and employee communications initiatives and serves as compensation system administration for Workday and Payfactors (market pricing and job description management tool). Support other HR reporting and analytic requirements.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Supports Total Pay Process in Workday by maintaining project work plan, reviewing proposed salary changes (merit, promotions, adjustments) for adherence to established guidelines, policies and practices, preparing executive summaries and supporting leader/employee training and communications

  • Uses 3rd party software (PayFactors/others), to participate in compensation surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information with modeling tools/techniques to assist with determining company's competitive position

  • Evaluates reporting capabilities in PayFactors and work with HR Business Partners and HRIS to recommend best practices for reporting and analytics for appropriate audiences

  • Prepares recommendations for updating/changing the company salary structure, bonus targets and/or equity targets

  • Audits jobs for content and prepares/edits job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements, determines state and/or FLSA exemption status

  • Reviews requests for new or revised jobs to market prices to determine appropriate job level and salary grade assignment

  • Reviews existing and proposed statutory requirements governing compensation administration and recommends appropriate courses of action

  • Supports HR Business Partners and leaders with day-to-day compensation-related issues and works with leadership to recommend corrective or alternative actions as needed

  • Administers non-cash recognition program, including troubleshooting, developing reporting, invoice processing, updating budgets, supporting program promotions/communications and executing program enhancement roadmap

  • Prepares/develops special surveys/studies and recommendations on various subjects such as incentive compensation, equity, job titles, etc.

  • May administer domestic and/or international programs

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, HR, finance, economics, or similar fieldand2+ years of Compensation experience at a public traded company. Experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry preferred. Experience with Workday and Payfactors a plus OR

  • Master's degree or MBAandsome industry experience

  • Knowledge of short and long-term incentive plans, including Sales and/or broad-based incentives, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Stock Options (SOs)

  • Demonstrated ability to draft job descriptions, level jobs using market pricing techniques, and completed job analysis

  • Knowledge of California Wage Order, FLSA and other state laws and regulations, and in determining classifications

  • Working knowledge of Workday or similar Human Capital Management tool, including advance compensation (merit processing), job offer approvals, job profiles, reporting

  • Working knowledge of PayFactors or similar Market Pricing / Job Description Management tool

  • Demonstrated survey participation knowledge particularly with Radford/Aon and Mercer SIRS surveys, and multiple salary increase type surveys

  • Strong Excel modeling skills, include forecasting, costing, predictive analytics, auditing, summary reports, etc.

  • Strong financial and math skills

  • Has experience in specific functional discipline while working to acquire higher-level knowledge and skills

  • Comfortable with tools and processes that support work conducted by functional area

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Good communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking skills

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Good project management skills

  • Strong computer skills, including MS Suite (Excel, Work, PowerPoint) skills

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $73,800.00-$106,875.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
