SCOPE OF INTERN WORK: Information Systems (IS) intern will play an important role in supporting the administration of the Resettlement, Asylum and Integration (RAI) department's U.S. databases; ensuring program effectiveness through data management. Data analysis and measurement is one of the IRC's main strategic goals; keeping our database maintained and users supported is an integral part of that goal.

COMPENSATION: This is an unpaid internship

COMMITMENT:
* 6-12 months starting in February 2024
* 12-15+ hours per week*
* Afternoons, Pacific Time zone, ranging from noon - 5 pm*

*Exact number of hours per week and schedules are open to negotiation. Applicants can be located anywhere in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* System Administration of RAI U.S. information systems (IRIS and ETO)
* End-user, tier 1, support; fielding basic inquiries, incidents, problems, and requests -- escalating when appropriate; helping with ticket maintenance
* Assistance with system documentation and learning resources: updating and organizing system documentation and making improvements to training resources

REQUIREMENTS:
* Current or recently matriculated undergraduate student at a U.S. college or university
* Attention to detail and the ability to follow precise instructions
* Interpersonal skills (active listening, patience, positive attitude)
* Knowledge of, or experience with, information systems for health and human services or other type of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software is preferred, but not required
* Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
* Entry level IT service desk (ServiceNow)
* IRC RAI U.S. IS Customer service standards for user support and database management
* User account maintenance and other administrative tasks
* System documentation and learning resource protocols

This position reports to the Information Systems Officer.
