Planning Engineer

Scope:

This position is responsiblefor providingengineering and technical review for both the creation of product build documentation and the associated assembly process. ThePlanning Engineer plans and executes engineering project assignments relative to process capacity, process capability, cost reduction, process efficiency, technology advancement and customer support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviews customer data packages, including drawings, specifications, and quality requirements, and generates instructive packages for CAM and manufacturing.
  • Generation of TTM Routings (MAIs) and all other associated assembly documentation to complete a production floor job package.
  • Assembly process review for definition and implementation of Manufacturing Tooling for products to be manufactured.
  • Provide direct assistance to the Production Floor for Assembly / Process / Technical issues and work to enhance and simplify documentation utilized by production floor associates.
  • Interface directly with customers as well as provide DFM (design for manufacturability) support as necessary.
  • Knowledge of all manufacturing equipment, programming requirements, set up and associated maintenance procedures.
  • Implementation of ECO/Manufacturing Change Notices.
  • Ability to handle all methods engineering job disciplines and provide support (technical and workload) to other engineers as required.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Industry and Military standards.
  • Ability to interpret customer documentation (blueprints, drawings, specifications, bills of material).
  • Ability to pass eye exam with a minimum 20/20 vision that may be corrected via eyeglasses or contact lenses as required. Eye exam is required annually.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, Autodesk Volo View, Autodesk AutoCAD / Mechanical Desktop and other various format cad file viewers and image manipulation software. Working knowledge of SOLIDWORKS and Mastercam software.
  • Blueprint reading and GD&T experience
  • Experience with CNC programming, set up and work flow
  • Robust troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with little supervision.

Education and Experience:

  • BS or Technical degree or appropriate years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • 2+ years engineering/technical related experience in printed circuit board assembly processes preferred.
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining and maintaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance

Compensation and Benefits:

TTM offers a variety of health and well-being benefit programs. Benefits are available on the 1st of the month following date of hire. For some positions, only PTO and holiday benefits are offered.

Compensation ranges for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At TTM Technologies, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on each individual set of circumstances. A reasonable estimate of the current range is:

$49,565 - $82,608

Additional compensation: An annual or quarterly company bonus may apply based on position assignment. Positions hired for alternative shift may be eligible for a shift premium based on the assigned shift and location.

Must comply with TTM Export Control Policies and Procedures and all applicable laws including ITAR, EAR and OFAC including but not limited to: a) being able to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor and understand that access to these products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents; b) recognition ofForeign Person visitors by badge differentiation; c) understand and follow authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL); d) understand the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US; e) manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services.
