Your Role

The Treasury team oversees activities related to more than $4 billion in company investments, cash and liquidity management, regulatory capital, and rating agency relationships. The team works directly with a variety of business units to provide data and analyses for use in operational and strategic decision-making. Business partners include line of business finance, Corporate Finance, Accounting, Actuarial, and Enterprise Risk Management. We also work with a variety of external constituents, such as banks, investment managers, and rating agencies.

The Senior Treasury Analyst will report to the Senior Manager, Treasury. You will join a small, close-knit team and may get the opportunity to work across various treasury activities related to cash and investments, management reporting and balance sheet and capital management. You may also get the opportunity to work on special and ad-hoc projects as needed.

Your Work

In this role, you will:

  • Support cash and investment-related reporting and analysis (e.g., management reporting, financial statement reporting, cash flow or investment income modeling)
  • Support cash and investment management operations (e.g., bank and investment administration activities, back up on key cash desk activities)
  • Support various internal, external, and regulatory audit inquiries. Lead, support, and participate in Treasury, Finance, and Enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Participate, as needed, in various banking or investment management-related Request for Proposals (RFPs) or Request for Information (RFIs)
  • Support the modeling and maintenance of BSC's cash flow forecast
  • Support liquidity and balance sheet management (e.g., work with the Treasury Capital Analyst to monitor/assess key liquidity and balance sheet metrics, back-up for risk-based capital)
  • Support intercompany dividends, loans and other capital movements
  • Other ad-hoc analysis/reporting as assigned

Your Knowledge and Experience

  • Requires a bachelor's degree and at least 5 years prior relevant experience
  • Requires strong financial and analytical background with demonstrated ability to drill into data to identify root causes
  • Requires knowledge of investment and financial concepts including, but not limited to: asset class types, allocation and rebalancing, security types, performance attribution, duration, investment-accounting
  • Knowledge of cash management services and techniques (e.g., payment and account types, earnings credits, lockbox services, anti-fraud services, implementing bank file transmissions, NACHA regulations, etc.) preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., building and using macros, pivot tables, using Solver)
  • Experience with Oracle and Hyperion Essbase a plus
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and drive results; Experience in building relationships and influencing activities across a variety of internal and external constituents
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to accuracy and detail
  • Prior treasury experience at a Financial Institution or healthcare firm is preferred
  • Chartered Financial Analyst designation a plus
  • Experience with risk-based capital requirements and balance sheet liquidity metrics is a plus

Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $87,230.00 to $130,900.00 for California.

Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
