Job Summary

The Probe Process Engineer will evaluate new probe technologies, study, and improve existing probe technologies & methods, and function as a part of the cross functional development team when introducing new products and capabilities to high volume production. Selected individuals will work seamlessly with a multi-disciplined team of Test Engineers, Product Engineers, Quality and Production staff to facilitate a successful handoff from new product introduction to high volume production.

The Probe Process Engineer performs in a multi-disciplinary function requiring knowledge of semiconductor fab processes, product engineering, test engineering, wafer probers, and probe technologies.

The selected candidate will have a basic understanding of semiconductors and testing thereof. The candidate must be able to generate a design of experiments, gather data, provide engineering analysis, and use results to drive decisions. The candidate will be expected to work with little instruction day-to-day and must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a sense of commitment and flexibility to project needs. Assigned tasks will be diverse in nature which requires exceptional organization skills, innovation, and high attention to detail.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Monitors probe hardware used in engineering and production applications

  • Generates product specific probe recipes for prober

  • Generates product specific probe recipes for Dynamic Cell Controller and tunes for optimum efficiency

  • Supports global engineering and production wafer test activities

  • Provides troubleshooting support, recurring problem detection, root cause analysis and resolution

  • Simulates wafer probe plans varying X, Y die spacing and aspect ratio to optimize high volume throughput and efficiency

  • Evaluates and learns new equipment. Generates and releases production probe procedures as necessary

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Typically requires 0 to 2+ years of experience in probing wafers in engineering and/or production environment depending on education level and experience

  • Hands-on knowledge of wafer probers

  • Knowledge of basic data analysis and statistics for application in writing engineering reports

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills

  • Cooperative team member with a strong sense of urgency to meet product requirements on schedule

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment, including electro-mechanical assembly and test

Education Requirements

  • BS in technical field, BSEE preferred

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

USD: 71,960.62 - 93,553.99 per year
