NAR Regional Grocery is seeking a Key Account Manager (KAM) to lead the Stater Bros. and Smart & Final businesses representing over $80MM in RNS. The selected candidate will work with Nielsen retailers owning all aspects of the business with high-level relationship management. Locations: This role is remote eligible on the West Coast, and General Mills will provide relocation assistance to Southern California (San Diego/Los Angeles area) and Arizona (Phoenix) only. Due to customer needs, applicants outside of Pacific/Mountain time zone locations will not be considered.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

SELLING EXPERTISE & LEADERSHIP

  • Cultivate customer relationships with high level decision makers and influencers.
  • Understand customer needs and link them to GMI's product and service strategies to develop mutually beneficial business plans.
  • Leverage established GMI Sales and Club processes to establish objectives, engage the customer, explore customer interests, explain solutions, and execute commitments.
  • Gain new product acceptance and merchandising levels in alignment with selling goals.

EXECUTIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Takes personal accountability and ownership for results, deeply understands consumers, and prioritizing what is important.
  • Meet annual sales targets by leveraging GMI trade strategy and maintaining accurate planning and spending information in the trade planning system.
  • Achieve sales volume and spend per case targets by creating, influencing, negotiating, and executing customer plans.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop promotional offers that reflect national trade strategies and optimize GMI resources.

PROBLEM SOLVING & ANALYTICS

  • Utilize syndicated customer and consumer data to understand category and/or industry trends.
  • Embed improved utilization of the Strategic Revenue Manamement and merch efficacy tools.
  • Leverage national category management selling stories to drive GMI growth and distribution.
  • Understand and leverage category management principles to influence share of shelving and display within a limited/Club assortment environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience in sales, trade marketing or category management
  • Prior experience using internal and external data sources (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, etc.)
  • Must be proficient in software packages (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint) & internal systems (Trade Planning)
  • Self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Strong financial management, decision-making and negotiation

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. General Mills will not sponsor applicants for a U.S. work visa.
  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $104700.00 - $157200.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
