DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Scheduling Manager and Supervisor, the Procedural Scheduler is responsible for the coordination of surgery scheduling and Interventional Radiology scheduling. For Interventional Radiology candidate will schedules outpatient clinic appointments, related tests, procedures and pre- and post-op appointments. Confirms referrals, authorizations are appropriate for level of scheduled services.

Functions as liaison for patients, physicians, hospitals, and other departments regarding scheduling, authorization and patient surgery preparation. Provides support for ordering and coordination of services. Determines patient problems and inform appropriate individuals of solutions and/or make recommendations as appropriate. OR Scheduler is responsible and accountable for key activities associated with the Operating Room Computerized Operating System (Epic) to provide support and scheduling for Operating Room (OR).

The duties includes and are not limited to scheduling all procedures for the operating rooms at various locations; reviewing OR schedule across all sites in order to maximize OR room resources; scheduling resources includes staff, anesthesia, equipment and specialty items; ensuring accurate scheduling possible to optimize and provide high level service to customers; ensuring highest quality care and patient safety; and performing additional duties as assigned. Job standards are to be performed at the EXPERT level.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Three (3) years of related surgery scheduling experience in ambulatory setting.
  • Experience processing authorizations, referrals, and with financial oversight; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience and ability to work with electronic medical records and appointment scheduling.
  • Customer communication experience
  • Ability to process and secure appropriate referral and authorization for services as needed and to understand functions and responsibilities of clinical support units.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the TAR process.
  • Ability to articulate physician's areas of expertise.
  • Understands and applies Cash Pay/Self Pay processes.
  • Possess the extensive knowledge and skills for practice in Ambulatory setting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must possess the ability to maintain diplomacy at all times when working with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other UC departments and staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience or training with Epic.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $66,879 - $66,879 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $32.03 - $32.03

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
