Job Description

The University of Florida’s Institute of Higher Education invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar. Although the successful candidate will be given the option to work on campus at the University of Florida, this is a completely remote position. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with the InformEd States project, a multi-institution research team that examines higher education policy. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work with Dr. Justin Ortagus and other Principal Investigators from Penn State University, the University of Tennessee, and the University of Oklahoma on a project that examines performance-based funding policies and return on investment outcomes. The Postdoctoral Scholar will clean and analyze longitudinal data on performance-based funding approaches, draft policy briefs and academic papers, present findings from the research at policy and academic conferences, and provide some project management support.

Candidates for this position should have knowledge of higher education policy and experience cleaning, managing, and analyzing large-scale longitudinal data using Stata statistical software. A qualified candidate must hold a doctoral degree or have completed all of the requirements for a doctorate in education, education policy, higher education, or a related field by August 15, 2024. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2024. This position is funded through an external grant. The position is for one year from the date of hire.

 

Expected Salary:

$65,920.00

 

Minimum Requirements:
  • A qualified candidate must hold a doctoral degree or have completed all requirements for a doctorate in education, education policy, higher education, or closely related field before Fall 2024.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience cleaning, managing, and analyzing large-scale longitudinal data using Stata statistical software
  • Evidence of scholarship relative to higher education policy or community colleges
