Job Description
This position exists to pro-actively partner and create relationships with business, industry, and education stakeholders in the content areas of manufacturing (e.g., machine tool technology, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, electronics, automation, print reading, computer aided drafting). The person in this position will assess needs, coordinate, develop, sell, and deliver innovative training courses and programs to pay for the delivery of these services to clients.
  • Effectively secure, sell, and administer multiple contracts and projects to deliver training and services to area businesses, associations, and non-profits. This major responsibility area is measured through client satisfaction with the services delivered, student success, revenue generated, and gross margin.
  • Manage and oversee licensed and non-licensed program faculty and adjunct instructors.
  • Market training and services that meet client needs and specification.
  • Develop program budget and meet financial objectives to achieve annual revenue goals and gross margin.
  • Customer Service.
  • All other duties as assigned

 


Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Customer service skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information as appropriate.
  • Practical professional experience in a business/industry environment.
  • Proficiency in interpersonal communications and leadership skills.
  • Evidence of computer literacy.
  • Evidence of attention to detail and organizational skills.

 


Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience in continuing education, customized training, curriculum development, or related training field.
  • Demonstrated experience with sales and marketing of products and/or services.
  • Experience with employee training and development or workforce training programming.
  • Negotiation skills and ability to secure contracts or grants for training.
  • Experience in work-based learning programs such as apprenticeship.
  • Experience with grants related to economic development, program development, or workforce training.
  • Established network of professional trainers/instructors and/or business or community partners for training and continuing education projects.

Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
