is accepting applications for the following position:
Nursing Faculty - 9/10 Month (Tenure Track)- 1 position
Faculty provide quality instruction for student learning and maintain a positive learning environment in the class.
The major emphasis for faculty is on teaching and evaluating students in the course. Classes are taught in a
variety of formats and at several different locations, possibly online. Faculty also communicate with students
between classes and are responsible for several administrative duties such as reporting on academic activity
and submitting final grades.
Essential Job Functions:
- Fulfill all instructional requirements as mandated by Cleveland State Community College and the
- Utilize appropriate instructional materials and methods.
- Maintain currency in the instructional field and teaching methodology.
- Devote a minimum of 37.5 hours per week to the institution, maintain appropriate office hours, and
- Be accessible to students for advisement, academic help, and assistance depending on instructional
- As needed, teach during all operational hours of the college at any of the college’s locations, as well as
- Participate in institutional and academic unit meetings.
- Maintain and safeguard all necessary records and report grades periodically as prescribed by the
- Comply with Cleveland State Community College and Tennessee Board of Regents Guidelines and
- Participate in periodic evaluations.
- Support and participate in the recruitment and retention efforts of the college.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Possess adequate teaching skills and perform normal duties expected of a teacher at the college level
- Where applicable, maintain adequate stock levels of supplies for laboratory use.
- Oversee laboratory and classroom safety.
- Exhibit knowledge of comprehensive community college concept.
- Exhibit knowledge of effective interpersonal skills.
- Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
- Recent professional nursing clinical experience.
- Active, unencumbered Tennessee or multistate compact RN or APRN license
- Current AHA BLS CPR certification
Requirements for all Faculty Positions:
- Meet the standards presently required or those which may be required in the future by the Tennessee
- May be required to achieve additional skill, knowledge, or credentialing levels.
- The educational requirements listed for this position are for the grade of instructor. However, the
now required or established in the future by the Tennessee State Board of Regents.

established in the future by the Tennessee State Board of Regents.
Salary Range: $40,000 - $47,720 (Instructor rank, dependent on education and experience)
