NWACC is seeking knowledgeable and passionate individuals to join our team as Part-Time Faculty Members specializing in Trail Building and Maintenance. These individuals may teach credit courses or accelerated skills courses.

The successful candidate will be qualified for and passionate about teaching one or two of the following courses in trails: TRAL 1003 Introduction to Sustainable Trails (online); TRAL 1013 Trail Planning and Design (online); TRAL 1023 Trail Construction; TRAL 1033 Trail Maintenance and Management; TRAL 2003 Trail Operations and Regulations (online); TRAL 2711 Heavy Equipment Operations for Trails; TRAL 2811 Welding for Trails; TRAL 2911 Small Engine Repair for Trails

 
Course Instruction
Deliver engaging and effective lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on activities related to the assigned bicycle mechanics courses.
Develop and update course content, instructional materials, and assessments in alignment with industry standards and educational goals.
Teach evening and weekend classes.
Student Engagement
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and skill development.
Provide constructive feedback on student assignments and projects, and maintain availability to support student inquiries.
Curriculum Development
Collaborate with department colleagues to review and enhance existing curriculum and propose new courses or modifications to meet the evolving needs of the bicycle mechanics or trails program.
Professional Development
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in bicycle mechanics or trails to continually enhance personal and instructional knowledge.
Participate in professional development activities and attend relevant workshops or conferences.
Administrative Duties
Complete required administrative tasks such as grade submission, attendance tracking, and other duties as outlined by the department and college policies.
 
Salary $45 per Hour
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Experience teaching at a community college and understanding the community college mission is a plus. Demonstrated teaching ability is the top priority. Instructional experience in a classroom as well as experience using an online learning management system like Canvas or similar is highly desirable. On-line delivery of instruction, use of technology for instruction, and experience or interest in project-based, service learning, or inquiry-based learning will be given special consideration.

Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
Extensive practical experience and expertise in either industry, with a focus on the specific courses being taught.
Previous teaching experience or demonstrable ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse student populations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
