Mentor: Dr. Annabelle Fonseca, Department of Surgery - Division of Surgical Oncology

A Postdoctoral Fellowship position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Annabelle Fonseca within the Department of Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and creative investigator in the field of Surgical Oncology.

The research being conducted is relating to health services focusing on optimizing the delivery of cancer care.

Primary responsibilities of this position include:

Qualitative and quantitative research: abstracting data from electronic health records, analyzing and interpreting data, patient facing qualitative research, presenting at national and international meetings, writing, and submitting manuscripts

A background in medicine, preferably an MD (or equivalent degree from other countries) or an MD/PhD

 

Preferable:

  • Basic or intermediate statistical knowledge.
  • Candidates with a M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. in or a related discipline are encouraged to apply.
  • Green Card/U.S. Citizenship is not a requirement but is preferred.
