Essential Job Duties

NC State Gaming and Esports Lab Advisors provide excellent customer service and assist patrons with specialized gaming needs in the NC State Gaming and Esports Lab located in the Hunt library. Students will staff the Lab, helping users with technologies such as PC gaming stations, video game consoles, streaming software, and more. They will also be responsible for greeting visitors, answering questions and providing introductions to the NC State Gaming and Esports Lab. The incumbent will also work on projects to support the space which may include developing and teaching workshops, broadcasting, recording, or streaming gameplay, supporting events, and exploring new games and platforms.

Work Schedule

8-12 hours/week; Work schedule will be based on availability and may include nights, weekends, and University holidays.

Minimum Experience/Education

Must be a currently enrolled student.

Department Required Skills

Experience and skills in any of the following: gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile); broadcast and streaming tools (e.g. OBS, vMix, Streamlabs); or knowledge of common gaming and esports titles. 
 
 Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
 
 Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills/information and take on new tasks. 
 
 Experience in consulting, teaching, or tutoring is desirable. 
 
 Ability to contribute to an environment of well-being and belonging.
 
 Must be a currently enrolled student.
