Job Description:

General Statement

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate ESOL Workplace Education Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ESOL instruction and a passion for helping adult learners improve their English language skills in a workplace setting. As an ESOL Workplace Education Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in equipping employees with the language skills they need to excel in the workplace.

 

Supervision Received

Reports to the Director of Workforce Development Operations and WFD

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver effective ESOL curriculum and lesson plans tailored to the needs of adult learners in a workplace environment.
  • Assess and evaluate the language proficiency of students to determine their individual learning needs.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and engagement.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with different language levels and backgrounds.
  • Foster a positive and encouraging atmosphere that empowers students to overcome language barriers and build their confidence.
  • Collaborate with employers and HR departments to identify specific language needs and align instruction with workplace goals.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their language and communication goals.
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and other relevant data.
  • Stay current with best practices in ESOL instruction and participate in professional development opportunities.
 
Job Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, TESOL, or a related field
  • Proven experience in ESOL instruction, particularly in workplace settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and culturally sensitive learning environment.
  • Patience and empathy for adult learners facing language barriers.
  • Knowledge of language assessment tools and teaching methodologies.
  • Flexibility to adapt to the needs of individual learners and workplace environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
