Community Outreach Coordinator
Job Description
Summary and Essential Functions:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing LRH’s Annual Dr. Moose Golf Tournament, day-to-day clerical fundraising duties, and other community outreach activities as assigned, including, but not limited to:
- Work with the Marketing Coordinator to maintain and enhance fundraising presence and functionality on the LRH website and other relevant channels, including drafting and distributing materials
- Coordinate daily clerical fundraising activities including receiving, entering, acknowledging, and documenting donations as well as submitting deposits to Finance
- Manage active employee pledges in conjunction with Payroll/Finance
- Manage fund balances and use income as designated and appropriate as approved by the Marketing Manager and greater Management Team
- Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulations, or guidelines related to fundraising activities
- Plan and execute golf tournament, including pre-event planning, sponsorship solicitation, day-of event coordination, contracting and overseeing all required vendors, and post-event activities
- Work with the Marketing Manager or Marketing Coordinator on creating promotional items as needed for the golf tournament or other fundraising activities
- Prepare and deploy two annual appeals with a contracted direct mail firm and capital campaigns on an as-needed basis
- Assist other LRH departments in soliciting, receiving, and acknowledging donations, including in-kind items
- Ensure donations received are applied to the appropriate charitable fund, working with Finance for tracking and reconciliation
- Maintain donor database and internal donor files, and supply historical donor information as needed for audits or other reporting
- Work with Finance and Department Managers on gathering and submitting information for Community Benefits Report
- Coordinate annual wellness fair, including garnering LRH department participation and outside vendors, in conjunction with the Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator
- Other duties to support Marketing, Communications, and Community Outreach initiatives as assigned
Preferred Experience/Specialized Skills:
- General understanding of best practices and strategies related to non-profit philanthropy, healthcare-specific preferred, and donor database management
- Experience in event planning and community engagement
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time with the proven ability to meet deadlines
- Interpersonal and networking skills, including the ability to foster donor relations
- Understanding of recordkeeping with attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Prior knowledge of golf and golf tournaments
- Previous experience conducting successful capital campaigns
Preferred Education/Training:
- Prior knowledge of Blackbaud, or comparable donor database, strongly preferred
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or three to five years of relevant experience
