We're searching for a Simulation Center Education Specialist, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position you will manage interdisciplinary simulation initiatives aimed at improving clinical performance (including physicians and families), organizational learning, patient safety, and quality care outcomes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Act as a leader and change agent in continuously improving simulation practice and Performance in the center and across the hospital system.
  • Continually identify new and innovative ways to integrate simulation into clinical and organizational learning.
  • Develop and maintain effective policies, procedures, and processes to support efficient/effective operations within the Simulation Center.
  • Ensure integration of current professional standards, research findings, and best practices into development and ongoing improvement of policies and procedures for simulation across the hospital system.
  • Support grant writing, including participating in leadership roles as appropriate.
  • Make recommendations for simulation-related operating and capital budgets.
  • Provide leadership in center and system-wide marketing efforts and tours.
  • Develop, coordinate, and participate in initial training, ongoing development, and coaching of simulation instructors to support professional development of instructors and overall program improvement.
  • Program, test, and run simulations and debriefings.
  • Maintain technical expertise to effectively manage simulation facilities, equipment, and simulators.
  • Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SME), faculty, and leaders to design, implement, and evaluate evidenced-based simulation scenarios, curriculums, and projects aimed at addressing targeted clinical and organizational performance gaps.
  • Collect and analyze data for program and financial evaluation.

Skills & Requirements

  • Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.
  • Required Master's degree clinical, educational, or simulation field
  • Required RN - Lic-Registered Nurses by the Texas Board of Nursing or Nursing Licensure Compact
  • Required 3 years of Clinical Nursing Experience
  • Preferred 2 years as a Preceptor or Educator Experience
