Job Description

Job Summary

Teach assigned classes and perform related activities to classroom instruction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Meet classes at assigned times.
  • Plan course content and assign appropriate coursework.
  • Maintain student records.
  • Evaluate student progress and assign grades.
  • Revise course outlines, objectives, and catalog information as needed.
  • Select appropriate texts and teaching materials.
  • Maintain office hours convenient for students and as required by college policies.
  • Prepare course and class reports as required.
  • Attend and participate in conferences related to the teaching area; membership in appropriate professional organizations is recommended.
  • Submit budget requests and written narrative when appropriate.
  • Participate in professional development to keep abreast of current developments in the profession of business and practice of education.
  • Stay current with technology in the classroom.
  • Actively participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum for the Business program.
  • Participate in department, and division meetings, college committees, and community service.
  • Participate in the assessment of student learning at the course, program, and institution level.
  • Assist in short-range and long-range planning.
  • Related duties may be assigned.
  • Participate in program review.
  • Actively participate in student recruitment and retention activities.

Minimum Qualifications
Earned Master’s Degree in Business or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Business courses and immediate ability to teach multiple sections of Business courses: Business Communication, Business Law, Business Statistics, Finance, International Business, Leadership/Operations/Human Resource Management, (Digital) Marketing/Advertising, Organizational Behavior, and/or Supply Chain Management. Commitment to the mission of the community college and to high academic standards, as well as interest in department and college initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Coursework and post-secondary teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching online using a learning management system.
  • Training and/or knowledge of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles along with experience actively engaging diverse populations.
