Job Description

The Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) is responsible for the central administration of research awards and provides service to principal research investigators and administrators for the purpose of obtaining and administering extramural funds in compliance with university and sponsor guidelines.

This position is part of the Accounts Receivable team in the Office of Grants and Contracts. This position is responsible for all initial cash receipt or adjusting entries for any grant or contract coming into or out of Grants and Contracts daily.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Lockbox and Electronic payments received through mail or accessed through Wells Fargo on-line bank account payments.
  • Research and identify incoming funds, log payment information in Excel, and apply payments via the AR module in PeopleSoft.
  • Research payments received that have not been identified. When payment is unsuccessful at being identified, this position creates Payment Vouchers to return unclaimed funds to the payee.
  • Research and resolve customer service inquiries and communication.
  • Create on-demand invoices for advance, autopay, and department invoiced awards.
  • Serve as a checkpoint to review all postings for completeness and will interact to make corrections needed.
  • Perform all record keeping associated with incoming payments.
  • Create journal entries to transfer funds that have been identified as non-sponsored projects and/or funds that belong to one of the other campuses.
  • Process payment transfer requests and ensure the required documentation is provided.

Work Location:


This position is eligible for a hybrid or 100% remote work environment. The work schedule will be based around core working hours in Colorado Mountain Time, Monday – Friday.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:

Intermediate Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.
  • One year of Accounts Receivable experience.

Senior Level:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
    • Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not for the specific experience.
  • Two years of Accounts Receivable experience.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using PeopleSoft Finance and Grants Module in a higher education setting.
  • Experience using MS Excel.
  • Experience researching and processing incoming payments.

Anticipated Pay Range:


The starting salary range for this position has been established as:

Intermediate Level: $50,007 – $58,521

Senior Level: $54,737 – $63,266

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
