Job Description

Washington & Jefferson College invites applications for a tenure track position in accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor to start in January 2024 /August 2024. We are seeking a dynamic accounting professional who can connect well with our undergraduate accounting and business majors to bring life to our accounting courses. As a part of your overall commitment to teaching excellence, you will be well-versed in the appropriate use of technology and ready to contribute to innovative curriculum development and delivery. You will be expected to develop strong relationships with colleagues, inspire and prepare students through your teaching, and demonstrate a high level of organization and communication ability. The teaching load is three courses per semester. Additional responsibilities include advising students, engaging in scholarship or other appropriate professional activities, remaining current in the field, and engaging in service to the department, college, and broader communities. We seek professionals who are thoughtful, creative, and nimble leaders who can add immediate value in the complex environment of private higher education.

About Our Department

The Department of Business at Washington & Jefferson College offers undergraduate majors and minors in business administration, accounting, and finance, as well as several focused minors and programs, in a liberal arts environment. Our faculty are an accomplished, diverse, and collegial group that includes both scholarly and professionally oriented academics. We value, nurture, and seek to extend our department's racial and gender diversity in our hiring and retention processes.

Qualifications

Professional certification (CPA, CMA, etc.), and master's degree along with relevant professional experience. Preferred candidate will have an earned doctorate or ABO in Accounting or a related field.
