Job Description

 

Learning Foundation is now accepting applications for a Certified School Counselor for multiple locations, for the 2023-2024 school year. To help students succeed by implementing and providing preventative and counseling services. Including personal/social/emotional development, academic needs, college and career readiness and guidance.

Counselor will provide direct student services through school counseling, individual student planning, and responsive services. They also provide indirect student services on behalf of the student such as referral for additional assistance, consultation, and collaboration with parents, teachers, and other professional and community organizations.

Job Duties

  • Listening to students' concerns regarding social, academic, or personal circumstances.
  • Providing students with support and guidance on how to deal with problems.
  • Mediating and improving relationships between students, parents, and teachers.
  • Counseling individuals and groups as required.
  • Conducting assessments to determine students' strengths, weaknesses, interests, and aptitudes.
  • Working with students to develop and improve their skill set.
  • Assisting students in the development of career goals.
  • Assisting students with scholarship, college, and job applications.
  • Support students request for letters of recommendations for post- secondary options
  • Perform annual credit audits for students to meet graduation requirements
  • Develop and maintain graduation plans for each student
  • Implementing programs to combat substance abuse.
  • Referring students to other support services and mental health professionals as needed.
  • Provide and support prevention programs including substance abuse, violence prevention, conflict resolution, anti-bullying strategies, peer mediation, and character education
  • Support and facilitate a positive school climate and culture that includes students, staff, parents/guardians and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in school counseling.
  • AZ Counselor Certificate
  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • 2+ years of experience as a school counselor.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of counseling models, methods, and resources.
  • Ability to identify and respond to students' needs.
  • Excellent listening and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be patient and compassionate.
  • High level of integrity.

Job Type: Full-time. Salary based on experience and education. Benefits available for full-time employees.

Job Types: Contract, Full-time

Pay: $44,000.00 - $48,000.00 per year

Education:

  • Master's (Required)

Experience:

  • School Counseling: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

  • English (Required)
  • Spanish (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • AZ IVP Fingerprint Card (Preferred)
  • AZ School Counseling Certification (Required)
