Postdoctoral Research Associate - Oncology

University of Washington

Job Description

Job Description

Position Summary

Postdoctoral Research (Scholar or Associate) Position Open in the laboratory of Todd A. Fehniger, Washington University School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Oncology, specializing in Natural Killer Cell Biology.

The Fehniger Lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to work on NK cell biology and NK cell therapy. We seek to understand basic mechanisms of NK cell immune surveillance in hematopoietic cancers. Using observations in humans from patients we have treated with cytokine induced memory-like NK cells and verification in animal models, we hope to translate new information into rapid bed-side treatments. This researcher will:

1) Investigate the roles of transcription factors in ILC1 and NK cell homeostasis and function using genetic knock out mouse models.
2) Perform CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing loss-of function studies on primary human NK cells.

3) Support various memory-like NK cell related projects I the laboratory.

The postdoctoral researcher will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge facilities and collaborators world-wide to help understand NK cell development and immune regulation. In addition to high-quality research facilities, career and professional development training for postdoctoral researchers is provided through the Career Center, Teaching Center, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs, and campus groups.
