Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator within the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Program Coordinator assists Program Manager in day-to-day operations of all projects, communications and other related functions associated with the development and growth of the Cancer Health Equity Center of Excellence (CHECoE) and community outreach and engagement (COE) efforts (including ScreenNJ and related initiatives). This position is responsible for: coordinating and supporting effective communication development, editing, and distribution; monitoring and coordinating Community Grant projects; coordinating regularly scheduled partner resource sharing, technical assistance, and education meetings; and coordinating one-on-one technical assistance and partnership development meetings and communications with Community Grant recipients and healthcare partner organizations.
 
Among the key duties for this position are the following:
  • Coordinate regularly scheduled partner resource sharing, technical assistance, and education meetings. 
  • Coordinate one-on-one technical assistance and partnership development meetings and communications with Community Grant recipients and healthcare partner organizations related to Community Outreach and Engagement. 
  • Monitor and coordinate approved Community Grant projects including award notifications, routine monitoring to ensure program progress, reporting, and invoicing, and leveling up performance concerns to manager for guidance and resolution.
  • Coordinate and support effective communication development, editing, and distribution to engage patients, partners, and community members in cancer prevention and early detection programs and services. 
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values. 
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’s compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy. 
  • Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality. 
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution plus at least three (3) years of work experience in project, program, or event coordination/administration. 
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Public health, healthcare, or related social services background also required. 
  • Candidate must be organized, detail oriented, and must possess strong spelling, grammar, and proof-reading skills. 
  • Ability to attend occasional in-person meetings with team and partners across NJ ). 
  • Must have access to a reliable car, or alternative means of transportation, for travel around the state to occasional meetings and events with partners. 
  • Ability to create and edit files in Adobe Acrobat Pro. 
  • Occasional weekend and evening work to support program events and services may be required. Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce. 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a highly professional demeanor in person and on the telephone. 
  • Demonstrated experience and/or understanding of graphic design, visual communication, and education / instructional design best practices. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of public health, healthcare, and health education principles and practices in New Jersey. 
  • Experience conducting process improvement facilitation and process review, mapping, and coaching for administrative or healthcare processes highly desired (including development of SOPs). 
  • Experience preparing and submitting requisitions in Rutgers Marketplace. Fluency in Spanish / bi-lingual Spanish/English speaker.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 40lbs (to move project supplies, set-up and break-down event equipment, etc.) 
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment. Moderate noise.
