Continuing Education Administration Part-Time
Instructor, Part-time, for Non-Credit Continuing Education ESL Instructor
The Continuing Education Department Bergen Community College invites applications for a part-time instructor position in the non-credit ESL program. A qualified ESL instructor will provide English language lessons to students who work at local companies.
We are hiring instructors available for the following time slots: Two weekday evenings between 6:30pm and 8:30pm (any evening from Monday to Friday) and/or Saturday mornings from 9:00am to 1:00pm. We are looking for multiple instructors for each of these shifts. Please indicate your availability when submitting your application.
Responsibilities:

Conducting activities and lessons based on ESL teaching methodologies.

Maximizing students' talk time through oral tests and presentations.

The instructor will plan lessons and activities, adopt a creative approach, and encourage and motivate students to learn.

Provide quality and technically relevant instruction, assessment, and feedback in lecture and laboratory

Deliver online classes if necessary

Develop the course curriculum in compliance with the industry standard

Maintain daily attendance

Monitor students' performance to make suggestions for improvement and to ensure that they satisfy course standards, training requirements, and objectives

Evaluate and grade students' progress and achievement

Motivate students to participate in all aspects of the educational process actively

Assist with course/program evaluation

Promote the course through events and marketing
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent
-
TEFL Certification.
Experience:
-
TEFL Certification.
-
Excellent command of the English language.
-
Ability to teach students of all ages and from different backgrounds.

Ability to work after-hours and on weekends.
-
Display patience and cultural awareness.
Additional Information:

Willing to teach online, on campus, or at a company location

Salary: $35 - $50 per hour, depending on experience.
