Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Training Coordinator for the Research and Sponsored Programs department. Under the broad direction of the Assistant Director of Training and Policy, the position is responsible for conceptualizing, planning, implementing, and evaluating Office for Research training efforts.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Manages a range of training and education functions associated with the mission of the Office for Research, including programs directed to audiences internal and external to the Office.
  • Develops administrative services, such as management of course registration, evaluations, and creation of enduring materials, to support the training and educational programs offered by the Office.
  • Handles crafting communication and marketing plans for new and existing training opportunities and supporting websites and systems used to convey information to participants in training.
  • Conducts training and/or find and recruit proper subject matter experts to supply necessary content and/or conduct training.
  • Works very independently and is accountable for major project decisions, metrics, and client satisfaction.
  • Supplies work direction, training, and/or technical assistance to lower-level regular employees and/or temporary, student, and/or consultant employees.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as education/behavioral sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of adult-directed training or educational programs, including web-based training and development and evaluation of education and training courses and materials.
  • A minimum of five years experience in training/education of adults.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver’s license would be required for this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Superior oral and written communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Experience analyzing data and working with electronic databases.
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic and diverse work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience developing and implementing adult training programs in university research administration and an understanding of the complete grant life cycle.
  • Experience with course registrations systems and course management systems (CANVAS).
  • Experience with micro-credential platforms.
Equipment Utilized
  • Standard office equipment such as copiers, fax machines and scanners, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel), electronic research administration databases/workflow systems, project management software, course registrations systems, course management systems (e.g., Canvas)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Office environment, occasional travel to various Rutgers campus locations.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
