Position Summary:

The UC Irvine School of Medicine Department of Physiology & Biophysics is dedicated to conducting innovative, cutting-edge research, engaging in high-level service and providing excellent educational opportunities and mentoring to students, postdoctoral fellows and residents in the discipline of physiology and biophysics.

This laboratory is focused on understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms of ion channel function. Under supervision, the Lab Assistant performs basic procedures in support of ongoing research activities. The Lab Assistant will provide technical and administrative effort for research experiments, lab management, expense reimbursements, maintenance of lab website as well as preparation of manuscripts, grant applications, presentations, conferences and workshops.

$19.69 - $22.82 (Hourly Rate)

 

Required:

• Lab experience, 1-2 years

• Bachelor’s degree or higher

Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position Training and experience in laboratory experiments, cell culture, use of standard molecular biology equipment.

 

Special Conditions Required:

• Irregular work schedule (e.g. weekend work as needed for cell culture and related experiments)
