Job Description

The successful candidate will contribute to research projects focused on investigating the role of diet and nutrition on the paternal epigenome and how it subsequently regulates embryo development. The candidate will be responsible for leading a study utilizing cattle, including overseeing diet manipulations, semen collection, and embryo production and culture. They will also use multi-omic approaches to changes to the paternal and embryonic epigenome due to changes in diet. The candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with investigators and partners from various institutions.

General Description:

  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others.
  • Demonstrated publication record.
  • Assist with writing grant proposals, manuscripts, and presentation of research results at academic symposiums/lab meetings.
  • Train junior lab members.
  • Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to communicate results, interpretations, and recommendations and answer complex questions internally and externally.
  • Wiliness to participate in meetings with stakeholders/industry representatives.

Required Education and Experience:

  • PhD in reproductive biology, animal science, developmental biology, genetics, or similar field
  • Molecular biology experience
  • Conducting field research with cattle
  • Embryo production and culture
  • Conducting statistical analyses.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Genomic sequencing experience (RNAseq, ATACseq, ChIP-Seq)
  • Understanding of genomic sequencing analysis
