Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Development Specialist II for the Douglass Residential College department. This position will staff the Douglass Advisory Board.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides high-level support and program implementation for alumnae engagement and fundraising.
  • Manages numerous events and strategize and manage donor stewardship.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years relevant experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of Advancement, organization, coordination, facilitation and/or reporting principles and practices.

  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, personable, and self-directed with strong planning skills, the ability to work with confidential data and have the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with diverse populations across all institutional levels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Will be given to candidates with experience in the fields of advancement, higher education and special events, with particular preference to those familiar with Rutgers procedures and administration.
  • Experience in higher education.
Equipment Utilized
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MailChimp and event management software.
  • Familiarity with Rutgers systems (AWA,ABI, Etc.) and/or Sales Force is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn customized software and database management, including ABI, Signals, Sales Force, Cornerstone, etc.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to receive an updated (bivalent) vaccine dose. Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals , if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Additional infection control and safety policies may apply. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain a medical or religious exemption from the University will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
