Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Associate Director (Managing Director) for the Workplace Justice Lab@Ru in the School of Management and Labor Relations to work with the Faculty Director of the center. The Associate Director (Managing Director) will work with the Faculty Director of the Workplace Justice Lab @RU in the School of Management and Labor Relations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Leads strategic development, growth and planning for the center.
  • Oversees the setting and implementation of goals and provide daily leadership, direction, and coordination for the center.
  • Works with key staff regarding strategic communication, fundraising, budget management, training, and staff team building and management.

Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Planning, Social Work, Public Policy, Labor Studies, Political Science or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of management and administrative principles and practices.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in administrative or similar function.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication skills and computer literacy.
  • Experience in labor or community organizing.
  • Experience in project management and grant management (grant writing and reporting).
  • Experience in fundraising.
  • Experience and comfort with communications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred MA/S or MBA (Planning, Social Work, Public Policy, Labor Studies, Political Science or other related).
  • Experience working with worker justice organization.
  • Experience working on labor standards and or civil rights enforcement.
  • Experience with training and partnership development.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
