Chief Executive Officer

The CEO is the visionary leader responsible for the overall strategic direction, management, and success of the Boys and Girls Club of Allentown. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will work closely with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners to ensure the organization's mission is effectively carried out, and its impact on the community is maximized. Ensuring a safe environment for the members, volunteers and staff of the Boys & Girls Club of Allentown.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership

  • Guide, support, and serve the Board of Directors in establishing goals and developing policies, strategic plans, procedures, budgets, and programs that fulfill the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.
  • Provide leadership to Club staff through the establishment of goals, objectives, and procedures; develops administrative and operational standards by which goals will be met.
  • Utilize strong inspirational leadership skills to empower their team to drive efficiency and best practices and develop a culture of collaboration and cooperation in fulfillment of the strategic plan and operational goals.

Resource Development & Fund Raising

  • Identify, recruit, and cultivate relationships with potential donors, foundations, and partners to secure and increase financial support for the organization’s annual budget and long-term financial viability.
  • Create and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to sustain and expand the organization's programs and services.

Staff Development & Retention

  • Oversee staffing activities of the organization, including recruiting, selecting, training, supervising and evaluation of both paid and volunteer staff.
  • Employ comprehensive staff attraction and retention strategies, which includes bringing the organization up to market competitive salaries and benefit packages.

Financial

  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring responsible financial stewardship and accountability.
  • Monitor financial performance and work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure the organization's financial sustainability.
  • Assure management and staffing of resources necessary to ensure the organization’s financial operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws.

Governance

  • Provide professional leadership in collaboration with the Board of Directors to assure development of an effective and motivated Board, including identification, recruitment, training, and involvement of board members in fund raising and meeting the goals of the organization.
  • Partnering with the Board of Directors, the CEO will proactively provide factual and timely information needed to make high-level strategic decisions.
  • Assure the organization’s compliance with membership and other requirements or standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and compliance of applicable federal, state, and local laws & regulations.
  • Serve as the Secretary of The Boys and Girls Club of Allentown Foundation.

Additional responsibilities as required or that may be assigned by the Board of Directors

Experience/Skills/Competencies Required:

  • A degree, preferably in social services or public administration, from an accredited college or university or equivalent related experience.
  • A minimum of eight years work experience in a non-profit agency, preferably a youth services organization, having increasingly responsible leadership roles.
  • Maintain updated clearances as required by Boys and Girls Club of America.
  • Demonstrated record of results in fund raising and cultivation of major gift doners.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a Strategic Plan, establish supporting goals, and marshal staff and board of directors to accomplish those goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, plan and coordinate operations in a multi-facility organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making and delegation.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences including but not limited to children, staff, Board of Directors, government, political and community offices, and agencies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
