Chinese Mutual Aid Association (CMAA) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Youth Department Manager to oversee all youth and family programs. As the Youth Department Manager, you will play a critical role in developing, delivering, and ensuring the highest quality programming for immigrant origin, refugee, and BIPOC young people ages 5-22 years old through academic, enrichment, mentorship, and employment programs.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements responsive, impactful, and innovative programming for under-resourced immigrant origin, refugee, and BIPOC ages 5-22 years old, including CMAA's Diverse Young Leaders after-school and summer camp programs; Young Women Warriors and Young Men Making Moves adolescent mentoring programs; teen employment partnerships; parent and family learning programs; and CMAA's social enterprise initiative, Tiger Tutor.
  • Collaborates with the Executive Director, Director of Programs, Board of Directors, management team, and CMAA Youth Department staff to Identify strategies for program development and growth through an annual strategic planning process, with a focus on capacity building and sustainable programming.
  • Works with CMAA's Executive Director, Associate Director and Development Department to identify funding targets and prepare grant applications, budgets, and subsequent reporting documentation.
  • Guide and monitor program activities to ensure compliance with all service contract requirements, including the preparation and submission of accurate, timely, and quality, program and financial reports to funding agencies.
  • Oversee data collection and evaluation efforts for CMAA's youth programs to measure short and long-term impact, including aiding in the youth department's transition to CMAA's new customer relationship management system, Salesforce.
  • Develops comprehensive annual budgets and operating plans in order to support successful programming.
  • Recruits, hires, and supervises staff, providing guidance on program development and execution.
  • Represent the agency on local advisory councils, committees, and other outreach activities, building strong community partnerships with education, public, private, and organizational partners
  • Recruit, advocate for, and work with youth and program staff directly as needed, building quality relationships with CMAA's students and families.


We're looking for a candidate who has:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in program management or youth development.
  • A demonstrated experience in overseeing and/or implementing community-based or youth development programs, including success in developing and evaluating different service delivery program models.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with youth from diverse backgrounds, especially those from immigrant and low-income families, gender, and sexual orientation
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing staff and teams, and a proven ability to use empathy and cultural sensitivity to work with both staff and clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with diverse communities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
