Posting Summary
Rutgers University Camden Law School seeks an administrative assistant. This position will be reporting directly to the Vice Dean, the Administrative Assistant will provide executive level and confidential support to both the Vice Dean and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs within the Law School in their various administrative roles. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for several tasks including but not limited to preparation and maintenance of confidential files, sending mass and individual communications, coordinating academic meetings with students, administration and faculty regarding academic matters; organizing meetings and assisting with initiatives concerning faculty scholarship, teaching and service, administrative preparation of course schedules and classroom assignments, serve as the primary contact for all instructors including the maintenance of email lists, instructor contract preparation and instructor handbook along with other matters requested by the Vice Dean; preparation of expense management and purchasing transactions, as required; will also assist the Law School registrar as needed with miscellaneous tasks and projects associated with course registration, exam administration and exam evaluations. Further, the Administrative Assistant will assist the Vice Dean and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs to prepare annual reports to the American Bar Association (ABA) and compile data for reporting and other reports to be submitted on behalf of the Law School as required; assist with the preparation of faculty meetings and may be tasked with providing back up assistance to the Dean’s assistant as needed.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, and report writing. Additionally, it requires good communication skills and computer literacy. Key additional skills include the ability to interact tactfully, diplomatically, and confidentially, and to maintain the confidentiality of information, records, and other data. Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills are also required.
· Must have a strong command of word processing and database management.
· Must be able to use calendar software.
· Must be able to perform email functions, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of information.
