Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP) is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct Neurorehabilitation and Neuroimaging Research for the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences. Qualifying candidates must have earned a doctorate degree in neuroscience, engineering (e.g., biomedical, rehabilitation mechanical), or a related field. Strong candidates will have prior experience in performing neurophysiology and neuromodulation research studies in human subjects, as well as history of publication and presentation of original research. The successful candidate will work on ongoing research in the Neurophysiology and Rehabilitation Innovations (NeuREI) Lab which includes developing neuroimaging-based prognosis models of recovery post-stroke and investigating cognitive motor interactions and neuromodulation methods to promote neuroplasticity. Research in the NeuREI Lab applies structural and functional neuroimaging and electrophysiological techniques and behavioral assessment, combined with advanced signal processing and analysis to study brain connectivity and neuromodulatory effect of rehabilitation training. The successful applicant will also be expected to develop his/her own mentored research project and work on various aspects of research projects from inception (e.g., study formulation, grant-writing, etc.), through dissemination (conference presentation and manuscript publication).

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Neurorehabilitation Engineering, or related field.
  • Background and experience in functional and/or structural MRI image processing (DTI, fMRI).
  • Experience in programming, preferentially Matlab, Python, R.
  • Rigorous training and experience in data statistics and data analysis.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in connectivity analysis (resting state functional connectivity, effective connectivity, graph theory-based analysis).
  • Research studies in human subjects, and history of publication and presentation of original research.
  • Experience in EEG/EMG/fNIRS data collection and analysis.
  • Experience in neuromuscular rehabilitation; brain and muscle electrophysiology.
  • Background and experience in TMS (data collection and data analysis).
  • Image-processing analysis.
