Job Description


The Cosmological Physics and Advanced Computing (CPAC) group at Argonne invites applicants for up to two postdoctoral associates to conduct research on topics related to weak lensing and specifically weak lensing shear estimation for the Vera C. Rubin Observatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time. The applicant would work directly with Matthew Becker. We invite applications from a broad array of backgrounds, including those who have worked in observational/experimental cosmology but have not worked previously on weak lensing-specific topics.

Collaboration with other CPAC staff members is highly encouraged; our postdocs additionally benefit from strong collaborations with cosmologists, applied mathematicians, computer scientists, and statisticians; they will also have access to world-leading supercomputing resources. The position has a flexible start date that could begin at any time and is renewable annually for up to three years.

Position Requirements

Ph.D. degree level with 0 to 3 years of experience or equivalent

(Please note that Ph.D. is required but must not have been more than three years prior to the starting date)
