Tenure/Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor for Biological Sciences - 48391


The Division of Biological and Biomedical Systems in the School of Science and Engineering at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We encourage applications from individuals who use Microbiology and/or Biochemistry to address fundamental life science questions. Preferences will be given to candidates working on prokaryotic or eukaryotic single-celled organisms. The primary attributes we seek in candidates are (1) demonstrated excellence in research, as the faculty member would be expected to initiate or continue an independent, extramurally funded research program, and (2) potential or demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring.


The School of Science and Engineering grants degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. MS and PhD degrees are granted in Cell Biology & Biophysics or Molecular Biology & Biochemistry. The Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences supports research in many areas including biochemistry, structural biology, cell biology, developmental biology, neurobiology, RNA biology, and virology.


Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess a PhD, MD, or DVM and at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
