Description

A Cell Biology/Biochemistry lab at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSCT) is seeking a highly motivated Post-Doc Research Associate in Cell Biology/Biochemistry/Molecular Biology to join the team.  The principal investigator’s laboratory has a strong research record in cellular and molecular imaging with advanced microscopy such as total internal reflection fluorescent microscopy (TIRF), super-resolution microscopy and laser scanning and spinning disc confocal microscopy to investigate the research area of cytoskeletal remodeling and cell phenotype switching, molecular motor protein biology, trafficking of intracellular organelles etc.   UTHSCT provides full-time post-doctoral research associate competitive fringe benefits including health insurance coverage.

 Successful candidates should have the following area of experience.

1. Cellular and molecular imaging using advanced light microscopy

2. Biochemistry skills including western blots, protein isolation, etc.

3. Cell biological skills including cell culture, gene transfection, molecular cloning etc.

Successful candidates are expected to perform following:

1. To conduct research experiments, analyze and interpret data, and perform statistical analysis.

2. To present results at scientific conferences and prepare manuscripts for publication.

3. To communicate well with other lab members to work as a team member.

Qualifications

Requires Ph. D. degree or equivalent in the area of cell biology/biochemistry/molecular biology.
