Job Description

RESEARCH INTERVIEWERPOSITIONS FOR EVALUATION OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT EFFECTS ONHEALTH
EXPERIENCE WORKINGWITH AFRICAN AMERICAN AND/OR LATINX COMMUNITY AND COMFORT WORKING IN A PUBLICHOUSING SETTING ARE ESSENTIAL. FLUENCYIN SPANISH PREFERRED.
We are recruiting part-time, temporary research interviewersto work on the NIH-funded study, TargetingHealth Disparities through Housing Redevelopment: A Natural Experiment ofHousing Quality, Stability, and Economic Integration. The positions start immediately.

In this multi-methods project, research interviewers will collect datathrough face-to-face surveys, hair sampling, and air monitoring with adult andyouth residents of a Boston public housing development located in South Boston.Data collection will be conducted in residents' homes or a communitybuilding.

We are seeking individuals to serve asinterviewers.
Researcherinterviewers will be part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team ofinvestigators, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and researchinterviewers collaborating on this five-year project.

Key work tasks willinclude:
Identifying, contacting, and recruiting adult and youth residents of a public housing community to participate in the study.
Explaining and acquiring informed consent from participants.
Conducting face-to-face interviews (using the RedCAP system on an iPad), setting up air monitoring equipment, and collecting hair samples from participants in their homes or a community building.
Maintaining complete and accurate records and high data quality.
Maintaining confidentiality and following all ethical guidelines for research.
Attending weekly meetings with study team.
Work will take place in South Boston under the directsupervision of Drs. Rebekah Levine Coley and Samantha Teixeira of BostonCollege. This is a non-benefit eligible position, with wages based onexperience. Continued training andprofessional opportunities are possible.

Requirements
The following skills are essential:
Experience and comfort working with African American and/or Latinx populations.
Comfortable working in a public housing community.
Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
Ability to pass background check and complete research ethics training.
Capacity to use technology (RedCAP survey system and air monitoring system) with training provided by the study team.
Highest commitment to confidentiality and the ethical conduct of research.
Self motivated, with strong ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends as well as daytime hours in South Boston.
Fluency in Spanish, training in interviewing, and an Associates degree or higher are preferred but not required.
