Position Qualification


Position Summary
Seeking candidates for two postdoctoral positions in the Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience. Work in state-of-the-art research infrastructure doing cutting-edge research in the understanding of f HBV-infection pathogenesis, with an emphasis on alcohol-related disease progression as well as elucidation of new treatment approaches with long-acting nanoformulations for chronic hepatitis B therapy. The major aims of the projects will be to identify the key pathways and molecular components in extracellular vesicle-mediated cross-communication between parenchymal and non-parenchymal liver cells in the context of innate immunity activation in chronic HBV infection potentiated by alcohol abuse. The research also aims to identify the mechanisms of the beneficial effects of anti-viral and immunomodulatory drugs.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in scientific field. Candidate should be strong in molecular biology techniques and have experience in cell culture and animal work, flow cytometry, western blot analysis, Real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and other procedures, as well as in HBV infection and liver studies. Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work as a part of a team, working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Image and Statistical analysis software is required.
