Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Associate Director of Compliance, Financial Aid for University Enrollment Services. The Associate University Director of Enrollment Services Compliance (AUDESC), reports directly to the Sr. Associate Director of Finance/Compliance. This position serves as the institution’s primary resource on federal and state laws and regulations by identifying, interpreting, and monitoring compliance with all federal and state regulations impacting the University Office of Financial Aid and University Registrar to ensure consistent compliance.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Monitors federal and state regulations and communicates requirements that do not directly impact the compliant processing of financial aid, but that are requirements of the University as a TIV and TVII participating institution, such as consumer information and enrollment reporting.
  • Responsible for training of staff across the university at all of the Offices of Financial Aid on new, changing regulations and their impact on processing.
  • Manages training cross departmentally as necessary to ensure compliance.
  • Responsible for managing university audits, external audits, program reviews and for developing a TIV compliance audit program, identifying areas of non-compliance and potential corrective actions that will impact the university.
  • Coordinates with the University Internal Auditor to provide compliance advisory services to other departments or in evaluating the University’s risk relating to federal and state compliance.
  • Creates and maintains the university financial aid/ registrar’s policies and procedures manual.
  • Works closely with other university departments, such as student accounting, registrar, and academic units to ensure compliance.
  • Oversees the NCAA budget construction in addition to the university annual budgets. The on-going updating of the university’s ECAR will be this person’s responsibility.
  • Serves as a university and community resource person and represents the university to outside groups.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must demonstrate knowledge of federal and state regulations and have experience working in a large complex, multi-campus environment.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication, writing, superior organizational and planning skills.
  • Demonstrated analytic skills, proficiency using automated financial aid systems, and experience as a senior level manager in a higher educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of ten years of direct financial aid experience
  • Proficiency with standard office software application
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work related information and materials

Immunization Requirements
