EEG Lab Technician and Manager

Job Description


The Carnegie Mellon Biomedical Engineering department seeks to transform healthcare worldwide through interdisciplinary engineering innovation and to train future leaders and innovators in biomedical engineering.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated candidate to fill the EEG Lab Technical and Manager position. You will join an interdisciplinary research lab with several postdoctoral researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, conducting cutting edge neuroengineering research. The lab has made important contributions to noninvasive brain-computer interfaces using electroencephalography (EEG) where human subjects are using their “thoughts” to control a virtual or robotic device. Research is also conducted to use noninvasive neuromodulation device to stimulate the brain.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a highly collaborative team and have responsibility of carrying our EEG data collection, in conjunction with various research tasks.

  • Participating in human subject recruiting and communications with subjects or potential subjects, managing the experimental schedules, coordinating with other researchers, and supporting cutting-edge neuroengineering/neuroscience research in human subjects.

  • Running experimental protocols, in addition to EEG capping and data collection.

  • Participating in editing/proofreading of technical writings resulting from the lab research.

  • Serving as lab manager to manage lab facilities and coordinate collaboration meetings within and out of the University.

You should demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and adaptable to supervision.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA degree in psychology, neuroscience, physiology or a related field

  • Experience operating computers and software including Microsoft Office.

  • Strong analytical skills preferred
