Overview:

 

The Community Leader Coordinator (CLC) will ensure that the agency is strategically building relationships with Community Leaders across the state to connect children and families to resources and increase awareness of early care and education at the local level. The CLC will work with Community Leader Groups to develop and/or deepen partnerships in their region and conduct activities that increase families' positive interactions with the Office of Childhood and local resource agencies, while improving their ability to access educational resources. Clients will include community leaders from non-profit agencies, justice systems, school districts, and businesses looking for ways to support the educational system, connect with other community leaders, and create synergy on the way we provide services to children and families in Missouri. The CLC will support the efforts of Community Leaders across the state, ensuring that all areas of the seven geographic regions identified by the Office of Childhood have representation and leveraging relationships to advocate for systemic improvements to better connect with the community. The CLC will be instrumental in keeping the agency in touch with community needs to advise the ECERR Sr. Manager and senior leadership of opportunities to connect the impact of our work with the work of other service delivery agencies locally and across the state.

 


What You Will Do:

Strategy, Vision & Leadership (10%)

  • Advise ECERR Sr. Manager and the Deputy Director of the Leadership team on budgeting/invoicing needs for Community Leader Budget.
  • Manage and develop strategic goals and objectives in partnership with Community Leaders relating to the coordination of state-wide Community Leader activities across the state such as Week of the Young Child (April), Child Abuse Prevention Month (April), Child Advocacy Day (March), National Literacy Month (September), Adoption Awareness Month (November), etc.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping ECERR and Deputy Director informed of critical issues.
  • Ensure state-wide activities are in full alignment of strategic initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of performance, cooperation, and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

 

Program Management (80%)

  • Work with Marketing Manager and ECERR Sr. Manager to create marketing materials that can be used by Community Leader groups across the state. Collaborate and coordinate among state-wide community leader groups to ensure state-wide activities are in full alignment of strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate between the Development Manager and Community Leaders to identify regional funders that will help support funding to meet cost-sharing guidelines set by the Office of Childhood.
  • Help prepare materials required for program audits for contracts.
  • Host and facilitate at a minimum a monthly meeting for Community Leaders and provide training, sessions, and technical assistance, as needed.
  • Work with ECERR to develop protocols to ensure quality delivery of services, and use of program budget to support successful program delivery.
  • Work with Community Leaders to finalize a referral form that will help direct families to service delivery partners in each region.
  • Work with the Manager of Research and Data Analysis and ECERR Sr. Manager to build reports that will assist Community Leaders in tracking service coordination including number of community members participating in community leader activities, the number of families accessing services through the Regional Community Leader website universal referral form.
  • Reflective Supervision with ECERR Sr. Manager to support their work with their regions to meet service delivery milestones.
  • Work with regional community leaders to ensure data collected is accurate and timely.
  • Work with Research & Data Analysis Manager and ECERR Sr. Manager to review data and progress on program outcomes.
  • Coordinate training to build Community Leader’s skills and capacity to track data and participate in national awareness initiatives that promote the Office of Childhood’s vision of children safe, healthy, and ready to learn.
  • Actively participate in agency and state-required meetings and personal professional development.
  • Effectively work cross-departmentally to best meet the needs of the children and providers served.
  • Inform Senior leadership on best practices for program oversight
  • Other duties as assigned

Administrative and Other Responsibilities (10%)

  • Select and empower a high-performing team of Community Leaders: Inspire, motivate, evaluate, and develop a team who works to connect families to resources across the state.
  • Complete required agency and state reporting on time and accurately.
  • Actively participate in required meetings and in personal and professional development.
  • Participate in the development of cost-sharing funding proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Skills We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 2 years of related experience in community leader, community organizing, and/or collective impact work.
  • A 2-year degree in Non-Profit Management, Education, Social Work or related field, or culmination of related experience and education preferred.
  • A strategic thinker who understands how collaboration of service agencies and local funding efforts support the success of sustainability.
  • Depth of experience in managing teams, supporting cross-functional collaboration, developing staff, and setting clear goals.
  • Understanding of systems change and systems thinking frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal and relational skills with a desire to do people-centered work.
  • Project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple and varying tasks with associated deadlines.
  • Perseverance to ensure success in an environment of measurable accountability.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Hands-on experience building relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including state officials, organizations, businesses, and community members.
  • Experience and confidence in technology management and technological use preferred.
  • Experience in current Office of Childhood Community Leader Hub groups is a plus.
  • Understanding of Missouri social service resources is a plus.
  • Pass a Family Care and Safety Registry Screening.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to retain a minimum of liability vehicle insurance.
  • Experience and skill working with diverse populations.
  • Conscientious use of justice, equity, and inclusion lens when working with self and others.
  • Successful at working in multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends and nights.
