POSITION PURPOSE
The UW Department of Pharmacology has an excellent opportunity for a Grants and Contract Manager Specialist (ES8). The Department of Pharmacology is one of thirteen Biomedical Research departments within the School of Medicine. We support a diverse group of researchers comprised of faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students. Our annual grant portfolio funding is in the range of $9 - $12 million and is primarily federal NIH grants, but may also include state, foundation, and local awards. We are seeking a new team member who will have administrative oversight of a portfolio of department grants. Ultimately this position serves as a critical partner to Principal Investigators (PIs) to guide them through the award lifecycle and aid them in achieving their research and award goals. This position would also provide expertise to the department’s fiscal office, offering policy and process guidance, supporting training/fellowship grants for graduate students, and providing back-up support in critical fiscal operations. This position reports to the department administrator and will work closely with the senior grant manager to support a subset of the department PIs (and other awardees) with their pre and post award needs. We offer flexibility in the work schedule and support a remote/hybrid schedule.
