Posting Summary | Applications are invited for a T32: Training in Botanical Approaches to Combat Metabolic Syndrome NIH-funded Postdoctoral fellowship. The objective of this program is to train the highest caliber of postdoctoral fellows to become productive scientists integrating biomedical research methods and botanical discovery research with the capability of establishing successful scientific careers in academia, academic medicine, governmental agencies, and in the private sector. Candidate must be a US citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) Applicants must have a PhD degree, and broad biochemical or analytical chemistry experience and interest in studying the application of modern methods of mass spectrometry and chromatography to natural product research. The major focus of research is related to the role and biological effects of natural products on the molecular and physiological aspects of chronic, non-communicable diseases. The candidate will work at Rutgers University under the guidance of Dr. Ilya Raskin (https://sites.rutgers.edu/ilya-raskin-lab/ ) in partnership with Pennington Biomedical Research Center of Louisiana State University. The successful applicant will join a well-established, diverse, and collaborative research team, and have access to the resources of two major research universities. Candidates must have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a publication record consistent with the position, and an interest in natural products and human health. Willingness and ability to train and mentor students is expected. Immunization Requirements
