Required Qualification: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Doctoral degree or foreign equivalent degree. Five years of full-time research experience in metal carcinogenesis research using cellular and animal tumor models, to include at least three years of research experience following attainment of a doctoral degree. NIH grant writing experience.

 Preferred Qualification:

●     PhD in Biomedical Sciences.

●     Experience in molecular and cellular research.

●     Research experience in environmental carcinogenesis using mass spectrometry and omics approaches.

●     Demonstrated research productivity with first author publications in high quality journals.

●     Evidence of ability to independently plan, design, and conduct research and present findings.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Senior Research Scientist will conduct research with Sr. Faculty members of the Stony Brook Cancer Center and Department of Pathology.  The incumbent will independently design research and ensure that all research protocols follow the policies and procedures of Stony Brook University.  The incumbent will serve as the lead scientist in the Lab.

Duties:

●     Plan, design and implement research experiments in the field of environmental cancer to achieve research objective(s).

●     Preparation of papers for publications, presentation of results in scientific conferences, workshops and seminars.

●     Preparation of grant proposals and application of grants.

●     Supervise, plan, organize and evaluate the activities of others including postdoctoral associates, research support positions and graduate assistants.

●     Maintain all laboratory records consistent with University policy

●     Other duties as assigned.
